Today's journey begins in Islamabad, Pakistan's capital city. It succeeded Karachi in 1967 and has since become the country's political and commercial hub. Set against the magnificent background of the Margalla Hills, this is a city where the ancient and new merge. Leafy green boulevards are lined with contemporary structures and commercial complexes, but they also include historic residences and mosques. The group flight does not arrive until late evening, so anyone coming early may choose to take a walk and become acquainted with the city.
We'll take an early flight to Gilgit. (1 hour) Your tour guide will meet you at the Gilgit airport. After the airport transfer, you will drive to Ghizer Valley. On the way, you'll stop in Punial Valley to explore. Ghizer is regarded as the 'Land of Lakes', thus you will see many lakes and gorgeous blue clear water along the Ghizer route. The Gupis Valley connects the Yasin and Phundar valleys and is located in the southern section of the Ghizer district. Punial produces a large amount of grapes in the area. The Punial Valley is a hilly area, with Gahkuch serving as its principal town. Sherqilla is the second biggest settlement in the Punial Valley. This language is known as Shina. After a two-hour trip, we will check into a hotel in Gahkuch, the seat of Ghizer District. Evening free to explore Gahkuch market and its surroundings.
Gupis Valley is a junction between Gilgit and Chitral, linking the Yasin and Phundar valleys. The Yasin Gupis is located in the southern section of the Gupis area. Heavy rain falls from January to the end of February. Gupis Castle, Khalti Lake, megalithic stone circles, and the settlement of Shingalote are major tourist attractions. Khalti Lake is a 20- to 30-minute drive from Gupis. When the river's water came to a standstill on the plain, it formed this lake. This lake is well-known for its trout populations. The Gupis fort was originally utilized by the military for defensive purposes. Khowar and Shina are the two primary languages spoken in this region. There are several settlements in the Gupis Valley, including Yungal, Sumal, Hakkis, Jindrote, Dahimal, Pingaal, and Khasundar.
The Phander Valley is a beautiful location to be and a true heaven on Earth. Trout is well-known as a popular fish. People are drawn to Phander because of its natural beauty. It is located in the northwest area of Gilgit. There are several nice and reasonable lodging options along the major Gilgit-Chitral highway. The Gilgit River has stunning blue water in this place. The mountains around the lakes are high. There are four big lakes, the largest being Phander Lake. As the river reaches the valley, it divides into numerous smaller streams before merging again as it departs. Phander consists of Shamarn, Chachi, Dalimal, Gulagmuli, and Teru. The predominant language spoken in the Phander Valley is Khowar.
Yasin Valley, located in the northern part of the Gupis Yasin district, is also known as the "land of martyrs." This valley is around 148 km from Gilgit. Yasin's population is dedicated, honest, brave, and frank. Burushaski and Khowar are two of the most common languages spoken locally. Hundur Yasin was the owner of Hawaldar Lalak Jan Shaheed, who received the Pakistani military's highest honor, the Nishan-e-Haider, for his valor during the Kargil conflict. The Yasin Valley includes villages such as Gindai, Bajyot, Chaliharang, Thodas, Manich, Taus, Sultanabad, Huwalti, Thoi, Barkolti, Sandi, Darkot, Hundur, Qurqalti, and Gojalti. Yasin is connected to Chitral and Wakhan by the Darkot Pass. The principal attractions include Makkoli, Darkut, and the Mudori Fort. This region produces a lot of apricots, cheerful, and apples. Yasin's population is mostly brusho, although there are also migrants from other areas of the nation.
The Yasin Valley played an essential role in the area's history, particularly among its personalities. The continuous dispute between Chitral and Gilgit authorities over Yasin drew the attention of Victorian Britain after British explorer George Hayward was slain in the valley's higher levels. The valley receives lots of water, and the lower areas, in particular, contain a lot of fertile land. Yasin is most likely to be at its peak in late August when wheat and maize are being harvested.
The Ghizer district borders Afghanistan and the Pamir Wakhan Corridor to the north. It's a stunning valley with mountains and glaciers. Trout fishing is also popular in the area. It includes around 30 villages in total, including Chatorkhand and Ghotolti, which have 30,000 population. Locals speak Wakhi, Khowar, Shana, and Burushaski, the four major languages.
