Ghilam Harish Trek
The Ghilam Harish Trek is a hidden jewel tucked in the picturesque Yasin Valley of Gilgit-Baltistan, where travelers can discover brilliant, multi-colored rock formations and breathtaking alpine scenery. At an elevation of 4,360 meters, this hike takes you past lush meadows and orchards before arriving at the bizarre Ghilam Harish, also known as Chopor Haresh. Tour Itinerary
DAY 01: Fly to Gilgit
On this Day
- Take a picturesque flight from Islamabad to Gilgit in the morning. Enjoy stunning aerial views of Gilgit-Baltistan's towering peaks and valleys.
- Arrive in Gilgit and relax in your accommodations. Take some time to unwind and recharge.
- Explore Gilgit, visit local markets, and appreciate the surrounding scenery.
- Enjoy a typical dinner at your lodging and prepare for the trek ahead.
Day 02: Drive to Yasin Valley
On this Day
- After breakfast, take a picturesque drive to Yasin Valley (5-6 hours). Along the route, you'll see beautiful valleys, rocky terrains, and traditional settlements.
- Stop for lunch at a local restaurant while admiring the beauty of the area.
- Arrive in Qurqulti village, Yasin Valley, and settle into your accommodations. Relax and enjoy the quiet ambiance of the valley.
- Enjoy a great dinner and retire for the night.
Day 03: Trek to Makuli Makuli Meadows, Then Ghilam Harish
On this Day
- After breakfast, begin your two-hour hike from Qurqulti to Makuli Meadows. As you trek, you'll see lush green fields, fruit gardens, and the soothing sound of the Qorqolti Bar Nala stream. The natural splendor along the journey will provide a relaxing start to the day.
- When you arrive at the Makuli meadows, admire the vivid green grass, beautiful wildflowers, and snow-capped mountains that make a stunning backdrop. Take some time to explore and have a picnic lunch in this serene environment.
- After lunch, continue your climb from Makuli Meadows to Ghilam Harish (Chopor Haresh), which takes two hours through some of the region's most unique and beautiful scenery. As you rise, the vivid geological formations of Ghilam Harish will open in front of you, resembling a bizarre, otherworldly landscape.
- When you arrive at Ghilam Harish, spend some time exploring the region, photographing the colorful geological formations, and taking in the panoramic views of the neighboring peaks.
- Overnight stay at camps to enjoy the tranquil surroundings and pure mountain air.
Day 04: Explore Ghilam Harish and return to Yasin Valley
On this Day
- After breakfast, you can continue exploring the gorgeous Ghilam Harish area, including a short stroll to adjacent viewpoints for even more breathtaking views of the valley.
- Return to Yasin Valley by retracing your steps to Makuli Meadows, then driving back to Qurqulti Village.
- Enjoy lunch on the journey or when you get to Qurqulti.
- After a day of excursions, check into your Yasin Valley hotel and rest.
- Relax with a traditional dinner and reflect on your travels.
Day 05: Drive back to Gilgit
On this Day
- After breakfast, begin your return journey to Gilgit, taking in the breathtaking scenery once more (5-6 hours).
- Take a lunch stop along the road and enjoy the breathtaking views.
- Arrive in Gilgit and settle into your accommodations.
- Explore any places you missed during your first visit, or simply relax in Gilgit. Enjoy a leisurely dinner while reflecting on your excursion via Yasin Valley and Ghilam Harish.
Day 06: Fly Back to Islamabad
On this Day
- Enjoy a leisurely breakfast before boarding your journey back to Islamabad.
- Depending on your flight itinerary, you may have time to do some last-minute sightseeing or shopping in Gilgit.
- Check out and transfer to Gilgit Airport for your return journey to Islamabad.
- Your experience comes to an end when you arrive, leaving you with amazing memories and a deep appreciation for the grandeur of Gilgit-Baltistan.
