You will be greeted and taken to your hotel as soon as you arrive in Karachi today. After some time to settle in and change, you'll start your city tour this afternoon with a trip to the Shrine of Abdullah Shah Ghazi. He was widely respected throughout Pakistan and was known as the patron saint of Karachi. He was born in Medina around 720 AD. You will later have the chance to explore Clifton Beach, the National Museum, and the Muhammad Ali Jinnah Mausoleum.
After breakfast this morning, you'll leave Karachi and continue your journey to Hyderabad. The route passes via the Shah Jahan Mosque in Thatta, which was constructed during the height of Mughal architecture, and the Makli Hill World Heritage Site, which is home to one of the biggest necropolises in the entire world.
The journey from Hyderabad to the ancient city of Larkana continues via the northwestern parts of Sindh province. Before continuing on to your overnight stop in Larkana, on the banks of the River Indus, stops along the way at the shrines of the renowned Sufi saints of Lal Shabaz Qalander and Abdul Latif Bhittai give you the chance to learn more about these acclaimed mystics, philosophers, and poets.
One of the biggest and oldest Indus Valley Civilization villages is located at Larkana. As early as the 19th century BC, the Mohenjo-daro (Mound of the Dead) site was abandoned. Before continuing the journey to Sukkur, you can explore the Mohenjo-daro Museum, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This evening, if time permits, there might be an opportunity to visit the neighborhood market upon arrival.
Bahawalpur, which was formerly a part of an independent princely state established in 1802 by Nawab Mohammad Bahawal Khan II, is reached after a full day of driving. The city of Uch Sharif, which is located near the confluence of the Indus and Chenab Rivers, is visible from the road. It is thought that Alexander the Great founded Uch Sharif around 325 BC. You continue your journey to Bahawalpur from here.
This morning, after breakfast, you will travel into the desolate regions of the Cholistan Desert to explore the impressive backdrop of Derawar Fort. The Rajput Bhati castle, with its 40 towering bastions that rise over 30 meters tall, rules the surrounding desert. Before spending a second night in Bahawalpur, see the fort and the Bahawalpur Nawabs' regal tombs.
Today's trip to Bahawalpur in the morning offers the chance to learn a little bit about its historical and cultural features, such as the Noor Mahal and the Farid Gate with its active local market. After the visit, you'll leave the city and continue towards Multan, which is situated along the banks of the Chenab River.
Because of the enormous number of Sufi shrines that are dispersed across the city, Multan (Madinat-ul-Auliya) is also known as the City of the Saints or the City of the Sufis. The shrines of Shah Rukn-i-Alam, BhahuddinZikria, and Shams Tabraz are among the sights you will see today. Additionally, you'll have a chance to spend some time strolling through the Old Bazaar.
Driving to Lahore, the largest Punjabi city in the world, from Multan brings you to the Punjab capital next. When you make a pit stop at the well-known archaeological site of Harappa, you'll have the chance to see the remains of a walled city from the Bronze Age that dates back to 2600 BC. Lahore will be reached later today.
You can now tour Lahore, which served as the historical centre of the Moghul and Sikh empires as well as a key location for British administration in the Punjab. Your journey today will visit the stunning collection of antiquities and national history on exhibit at the Lahore Museum, the spectacular Badshahi Mosque constructed from red sandstone, and the nearby Lahore Fort, which is home to a remarkable array of cultural and historical treasures. This afternoon, visit the walled city of Lahore to observe the commotion of daily life there. You may explore the stunning, recently restored Shahi Hammam and the Wazir Khan Mosque by strolling through the bustling bazaar.
One of the premier locations for Mughal architecture is Lahore. Lahore continues to rank highly on the list of Pakistan's must-see attractions thanks to its beautiful Islamic buildings, breathtaking traces of the British era of control, chaotic old city bazaar, and modern status, including the UNESCO World Heritage sites of the Jahangir Tomb and Shalimar Garden. Drive over to the Wagah border this afternoon to join the patriotic crowds in witnessing the amazing—and incredibly odd—Wagah Border Ceremony.
